Boxes are containers for Items. Place them inside an Area or Location, then add Items inside them.

What Is a Box?

A Box is a physical container that holds Items. It lives inside an Area or a Location. Examples: "Holiday Decorations", "Power Tools", "Winter Clothes Box 1".

Creating a Box

Click + Add on the Boxes list page. Fill in:

  • Name — required.
  • Container — choose whether the Box lives in an Area or a Location, then select which one. You can scan a QR code to select the container.
  • Description, Tags, Photos, Videos, and (optionally) a Destination — where this box is eventually going.

Moving a Box

Select Move from the list row actions to relocate a Box. In the move modal you can pick a new Area or Location as the container. You can also scan a QR code to select the destination automatically.

To move several Boxes at once, tick their checkboxes and click Bulk Move.

Box Contents

Click a Box name in the list to open its detail page. You'll see all Items inside it. From there you can click Add Item to add directly into that Box.

Moving a Box to Its Destination

If a Box has a Destination set, you can move it there in three ways:

  • Row action — click the blue map-pin icon in the Actions column. The box moves immediately and its destination is cleared.
  • Bulk Move to Destination — tick checkboxes on multiple boxes, then click Bulk Move to Destination. Only boxes with a destination set will be moved; the rest are skipped.
  • Move All (admin) — Site Admins can use Site Administration → Move to Destinations to move every box in the Site at once.

Tags, QR Codes & History

Boxes support tags (individually or bulk), QR code printing, and a full audit history. Print a QR label and stick it on the physical box so you can scan it later to find what's inside.
